Here’s the latest information on my books–updated March 2013.

CORRODED

100_1377California high school freshman Mary Lou Weber seeks to discover where she belongs after her group of middle school best friends scatters. Mary also has the extra stress of sharing a room with her older sister, who’s back from college unexpectedly. Plus her crush, sophomore Josh Copperfield, is finally giving her attention and she’s not quite sure how to respond. When Mary meets Ben, an agoraphobic teen with high functioning autism, she uncovers courage she didn’t know she possessed. As Mary begins to assert herself, readers will experience her emotional highs and lows, including the awkwardness of her first kiss and the anxiety—and thrill—of sneaking out.

In an attempt to pacify a persistent guidance counselor, Mary chooses a nineteenth century poem and her father’s old Navy coverall, to compete for the notorious Sailor Suzy mascot position amid a dozen other girls dancing around in mini sailor suits. In the tradition of novels such as Joan Bauer’s Hope was Here and Fifteen by Beverly Cleary, CORRODED is a 40,200 word coming-of-age novel with retro flare and contemporary sensibilities.
